President Paul Kagame expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who visited Rwanda on a two-day state visit marked by activities including a tour of the presidential farm and the gifting of Inyambo cows as a symbol of strong friendship between the two leaders.
This message of appreciation was shared by President Kagame on his social media platforms on Friday, November 21, 2025.
He stated: “I thank my brother and friend, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hammad Al Thani, for his visit to Rwanda and for the productive discussions we held.”
The Head of State further emphasized that Rwanda values the strong relationship it shares with the State of Qatar, as well as the special friendship that continues to promote positive cooperation between the two countries.
He added: “We look forward to building on the progress made during this visit and advancing the shared priorities for the mutual benefit of our nations and people.”
Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also shared a message on his social media platforms where he stated: “Expanded discussions brought me together with my friend, President Paul Kagame, within the framework of our shared commitment to enhancing opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Qatar and Rwanda are united by strong and growing relations, and they are advancing with rapid strides toward promising horizons of partnership and mutual interests.
He added: “I commend His Excellency’s efforts in supporting peace initiatives in the regional surroundings of his country.”
Emir of Qatar arrived in Rwanda on Thursday, where he was welcomed at Kigali International Airport by President Kagame.
On the afternoon of the same day, the leaders toured the presidential farm in Bugesera District, where President Kagame gifted the Emir Inyambo cows as a symbol of the longstanding bond and friendship between Rwanda’s President and the Emir of Qatar.
