Rwanda and Russia have long-standing cooperation and relations in military affairs, based on agreements for partnership and capacity building.

Some of the activities that characterize this cooperation and partnership in military affairs include military training, technical cooperation, and matters related to military equipment.

In May this year in Kigali, Rwanda, the Joint Commission responsible for military cooperation between Rwanda and Russia held its meeting, which concluded with both sides jointly reviewing how to strengthen military cooperation through practical collaboration.

At the time, RDF General Headquarters stated that this annual meeting serves as a platform to review the status of military cooperation between Rwanda and Russia, and to consider new areas of cooperation.
