NAEB-C4Impact Agreement Targets Traceability and New Markets for Rwandan Farm Exports

NAEB-C4Impact Agreement Targets Traceability and New Markets for Rwandan Farm Exports

The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) and Connect for Impact Advisory Group (C4Impact) have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening Rwanda’s agricultural export value chains.

The agreement was signed by NAEB Chief Executive Officer Claude Bizimana and C4Impact founder and chair Dr Agnes Kalibata.

Under the partnership, the two organisations will cooperate on technical assistance, product traceability and compliance with international quality and phytosanitary standards.

Their collaboration will also focus on diversifying export markets, improving post-harvest management, mobilising investment and promoting wider participation in export-oriented agriculture.

Stronger traceability and compliance systems are essential for exporters seeking access to regulated international markets, where agricultural products must meet strict quality and plant-health requirements. Improved post-harvest handling can also help preserve product quality and reduce losses before produce reaches buyers.

The agreement comes as Rwanda’s agricultural exports continue to grow. According to NAEB, the sector generated $1.1 billion between July 2025 and June 2026, representing a 24.3 per cent increase from $893 million in the previous financial year.
