A video has been released showing the operations of Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF) alongside Mozambican forces in the fight against terrorists in Cabo Delgado Province, where Rwandan soldiers display exceptional combat skills and are given instructions to shoot the enemy “without mercy.”
In a recent meeting with over 6,000 Soldiers, Police Officers, and Prison Guards in Gabiro, President Paul Kagame, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of RDF, reminded Rwanda’s forces that they must have sufficient skills to help them confront the enemy.
Specifically, the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defense Force urged soldiers to have shooting skills, because apart from helping defeat the enemy, it also enables the country to use its limited resources wisely since bullets have now become expensive, with some costing between 3,000 USD and 5,000 USD.
President Kagame said: “Shooting someone who has brought war to you is not just about pulling the trigger and firing bullets, that is not fighting. That bullet must go carrying the name of the one it was meant for.”
Rwanda’s soldiers, who have been deployed to different peacekeeping missions, are praised not only for their disciplined conduct but also for their extraordinary expertise in confronting the enemy on the battlefield.
The footage released by the Rwanda Defense Force Headquarters shows military operations in which Rwandan soldiers join their Mozambican counterparts in fighting terrorists in Cabo Delgado Province, depicting RDF soldiers battling on land, in water, and in the air.
In the video, soldiers are first seen receiving instructions from their top commander. Among them is Lt Gen Innocent Kabandana, the former commander of these troops, who welcomes the soldiers into the battle they were about to engage in.
In the video, Lt Gen Kabandana says: “What we are going to do is a simple thing, it is to help this country restore stability and peace by fighting the terrorists in the Cabo Delgado area.”
Brig Gen Pascal Muhizi, who also previously commanded these troops in Cabo Delgado, also appears in the footage giving orders to the Rwandan soldiers.
He tells them: “What we know is that we surpass the enemy in truth, and we surpass him in training. So let us do our job well, let’s strike him and don’t be afraid […] he wants to be shot without mercy because if he captures you, he will kill you…”
The footage shows Rwandan soldiers in forests firing volleys of bullets, using battle tanks, while others are engaged in water combat, and still others deploy combat helicopters firing at the enemy.
