The Chief of the French Army Land Forces, General Pierre Schill was received by the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwandan Army, General Mubarakh Muganga, and also held talks with his Rwandan counterpart, Major General Vincent Nyakarundi.
This took place on Monday, October 20, 2025, when the Chief of the French Army Land Forces, General Pierre Schill, arrived in Rwanda to attend the Conference of the Chiefs of Army Land Forces, which is being held in Kigali from Tuesday, October 21, to Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
The RDF Headquarters stated that on Monday, “General Pierre Schill, Chief of Staff of the French Army Land Forces, held a meeting with his counterpart, Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, at the RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura.”
The Rwandan Army leadership added that before this meeting between the two Chiefs of the Land Forces of both countries, the French Chief of Army Land Forces, General Schill, was received by the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, General Mubarakh Muganga.
The RDF said that the talks between the Chiefs of the Land Forces “focused on promoting the existing cooperation between the French Army and the RDF Land Forces.”
General Schill also visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi, where he paid respects and honored the memory of more than 250,000 innocent victims who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
