Princess Spéciose Mukabayojo Bideri, the daughter of King Yuhi V Musinga who once ruled Rwanda, has passed away in Kenya, where she had been living. It has been confirmed that she will be laid to rest in her home country, Rwanda.
According to an official statement from her family, delivered by one of her children, the princess will be buried in Rwanda, next to her late husband Benoit Bideri and her mother, the late Agnès Mujawingoma.
The message reads: “Our mother, Bideri Spéciose Mukabayojo, will be buried in her homeland, Rwanda, near her husband, our father Benoit Bideri, and her mother, the late Agnès Mujawingoma.”
The family’s announcement also stated that the burial will take place on November 29, 2025.
Reports indicate that the family is receiving support from the Government of Rwanda in organizing the funeral of their beloved mother.
Princess Mukabayojo last visited Rwanda in 2017 when she attended the funeral of King Kigeli V Ndahindurwa, who passed away in 2017 and was buried at Mwima in Nyanza District, Southern Province the traditional royal burial site.
During that ceremony, she appeared accompanied by her children and seemed physically weak due to old age.
Her passing was announced by her family last week, stating that she died on the night of October 27, following illness and complications related to advanced age.
