The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has confirmed that, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, he ordered a decisive military strike against a terrorist group calling itself the Islamic State (ISIS) operating in northwestern Nigeria.
The attack was carried out overnight, according to confirmation from the Department of Defense under the Office of the US President.
In a statement, Trump said:
“Tonight, at my direction as Commander-in-Chief, the United States of America launched a powerful and deadly strike against the ISIS Terrorist Scum in the Northwestern Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christian civilians at levels not seen for many years, even Centuries.”
Trump further stated that he had repeatedly warned the terrorists, telling them that “If they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.”
The US President announced that the Department of Defense deployed airstrikes during the night and that the bombs successfully hit their intended targets. He added, “Only the United States of America is capable of doing.”
He emphasized that under his leadership, the United States would never allow Islamic terrorism to grow. Trump concluded by thanking the US military, wishing them a Merry Christmas, and expressing satisfaction over the death of the terrorists.
