Two senior officers of the Rwanda Defence Force have completed their studies at the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies, a military academy in Qatar.
The officers who completed their studies at this academy on Monday, June 29, 2026, are Lt Col Christian Mushengezi and Lt Col John Bosco Kamuhangire.
The Rwanda Defence Force said that “In addition to their military training, these officers also completed studies in the Arabic language, which will further enhance their capacity in international military cooperation.”
The graduation ceremony for these officers and their fellow graduates from this Military Academy was presided over by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs in Qatar.
The ceremony was also attended by senior Qatari military officials, representatives of various countries in the field of foreign affairs, as well as other distinguished guests.
On the side of the Rwanda Defence Force High Command, it was represented by Col Bernard Niyomugabo, who serves as Rwanda’s military representative in Qatar.
Rwanda and Qatar are countries that have long maintained military cooperation. Last year, nine other Rwandan students also completed studies at military academies in Qatar, four from the ground forces and five from the air force.
