In Mageragere Sector, Nyarugenge District, Kigali City, the international secondary school ‘Path to Success’ has officially opened, offering education through modern, up to date teaching methods.
The official opening of this new Secondary Campus took place on Saturday, June 28, 2026. The school is a leader in delivering international standard education, with modern buildings, a recreation hall, sports facilities and other amenities that support students in their learning.
Students at Path to Success are taught at an advanced level. The languages taught include French, English and Kinyarwanda.
Isimbi Tania, a student at the school, said the school is a place where dreams come true.
She said: “This school is very good. I have been studying here for a year now, I started last year in September. This school has brought me many good things, right now I am talking to you having three scholarships to study abroad, and this school helped me with all of that.”
Parents whose children attend the school say they are very pleased, noting that when they send their children to school, they come home well brought up.
One such parent, Marie Aime Umurungi, said she has strong confidence in her children’s future.
She said: “They teach based on Christian values which gives the child direction, and as they grow they build confidence in themselves, and they are taught with a lot of love.”
Path to Success has already opened a branch in Rubavu as part of efforts to bring quality education closer to communities.
The school’s head for the Mageragere campus, Miriam Mirembe, said students who graduate from this institution are not required to prove English proficiency when going to study abroad.
She said: “At Cambridge, English is included. What we focus on heavily is teaching English as a first language. When our children leave here in Rwanda and go abroad, they are not held back to first study English.”
The founder of Path to Success, Salila Machiels, said the school operates like a family, where children learn alongside their parents who help raise them.
She said the quality services they provide are what bring parents to enroll their children at the school rather than the school having to recruit them.
She said: “What makes PTS unique is that it is a family school. Whoever joins PTS feels part of a family, feels love and feels cared for. That is the value of PTS.”
The education coordinator for Kigali City, Niyongabo Eric, said the school plays an important role in the Government’s program to improve the quality of education.
He said: “They showed the curriculum they teach, they showed they have sufficiently qualified teachers. All of this truly enables them to deliver the quality of education that Rwanda’s education sector aims for. It is a significant contribution.”
Path to Success started in Rwanda as an institution supporting underprivileged children. Over time it has grown, building a nursery school in Kiyovu, starting a primary school in Kigarama, and now a new school in Mageragere, alongside its existing branch in Rubavu.
The school plans to continue expanding and establishing branches across the country and abroad.
