President Kagame Received Germany’s Minister of State Güler to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

President Paul Kagame received Germany’s Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, Serap Güler, for discussions on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.

The Presidency said the meeting focused on the extensive partnership between Rwanda and Germany.

Güler’s visit to Rwanda formed part of a regional trip that also included Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Germany said her programme included consultations with the three governments on the conflict in eastern DR Congo.

“Germany has an interest in peace, stability and progress in the African Great Lakes region,” Güler said before beginning the trip.

Rwanda and Germany cooperate in economic development, vocational training, employment, healthcare, climate protection, energy and digital technology.

Representatives of German businesses accompanied Güler as part of Berlin’s efforts to promote economic cooperation benefiting Germany and its regional partners.
