Aston Villa players described Rwandan coffee as smooth and fruity after tasting coffee from the country’s Western Province.
In a video shared by the English club, a representative introduced the coffee and explained its origin before inviting the players to taste it.
One player said he regularly drinks coffee and now prefers an Americano with a small amount of milk. After smelling the Rwandan coffee, he praised its aroma.
Another player said: “Nice and smooth. It’s not that bitter.”
One of the players later added: “That was proper smooth, that one. Yeah, that’s nice.”
The representative explained that the coffee has a naturally sweet, fruit-forward flavour and can be enjoyed without milk.
“From Rwanda to Villa Park. Our players sampled Rwandan coffee, now it’s your turn!” Aston Villa said when sharing the video.
It ended with an invitation for supporters to visit Villa Park and taste Rwandan coffee.
Fans were later offered free samples before Aston Villa’s home match against Manchester City at the Warehouse Upper Plaza, Trinity Marquee and Oak Room.
The tasting formed part of Aston Villa’s partnership with Visit Rwanda, which was announced in July.
Visit Rwanda is the club’s principal partner, official tourism partner and official coffee provider, with its branding appearing on the team’s shirts.
