Former Israeli Ambassador to Rwanda returns to Kigali, calling it his second home

Dr Ron Adam, former First Ambassador of Israel to Rwanda, is happy to return to this country which he considers his second home, saying he had missed seeing the beauty of the country’s hills and the Rwandans who always smile at him.

Dr Ron Adam became Israel’s First Ambassador to Rwanda in 2018, and ended his term in August 2023, being succeeded by Einat Weiss.

It is a country he came to love, because since ending his duties, he has continued to visit it, showcasing its good qualities, including Rwandan history and culture that touched his heart.

In a message he posted on X on the morning of this Tuesday, Dr Ron Adam expressed that he was happy to return to Rwanda, having previously visited a year earlier.

He said: “Happy to be back in my second hometown, Kigali. Feeling good with the shinny streets and the  clean air, the beautiful weather, the green hills and the smiling Rwandans. And enjoying  some great days with friends and colleagues.  Turikumwe”

Ambassador Dr Ron Adam went on to say that he is happy to have good moments with the friends he made in Rwanda, saying: “Turikumwe!”

In August last year, 2025, Dr Ron Adam had also returned to Rwanda, and at that time too he showed that he was happy to come again to this country that had touched him.

As he was concluding that visit to Rwanda and returning home, Dr Ron Adam used photos to show the important moments of his stay, saying: “I once again had good moments at home for the second time in Rwanda. We will meet again soon.”

Since completing his duties representing Israel in Rwanda, Amb. Dr Ron Adam has continued to show that he loves Rwanda, and that he always stands with Rwandans during important moments.

He also attended the launch of the 31st Kwibuka commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi, held in Tel Aviv, where he delivered remarks, closing with a well-known Rwandan saying, “A true warrior does not complain; they seek solutions.”(a hero does not despair, but seeks solutions), a Kinyarwanda proverb he said had touched him.
