President Kagame Meets RDB Board to Review Priority Projects and Private Sector Growth Plans

President Paul Kagame took part in discussions with members of the Board of Directors of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), where he was briefed on the institution’s key projects and on strategies aimed at accelerating private sector-driven development.

The meeting took place at RDB headquarters, where participants examined RDB’s priority initiatives as well as measures designed to speed up economic growth anchored on investment and the private sector.

“This morning at the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) offices, President Kagame joined a meeting of the RDB Board of Directors,” the Office of the President of Rwanda announced.

“The meeting reviewed RDB’s priorities and ongoing efforts to accelerate private sector-led growth, attract and facilitate investment, promote exports and tourism, and strengthen Rwanda’s competitiveness,” the Presidency added.

During the meeting, President Kagame emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong focus on delivery, accountability and continuously improving the environment for businesses and investors to thrive.

He also stressed the need to keep putting in place favourable systems that make it easier for entrepreneurs and investors to operate and grow their businesses in Rwanda.

The meeting comes as RDB continues to carry out its mandate of promoting the private sector, attracting both domestic and foreign investment, boosting tourism and exports, and contributing to strengthening Rwanda’s competitiveness on the international stage.

It also comes just days before one of Rwanda’s major tourism events, the 21st edition of Kwita Izina, the gorilla naming ceremony, which draws participants from every corner of the world.
