Rwanda Development Board (RDB) Chief Executive Officer Jean-Guy Afrika participated in the Invest.EastAfrica! Business and Investment Forum in Kigali, where Rwandan and German business leaders discussed investment and partnership opportunities in digital services, pharmaceuticals and agribusiness.
Afrika attended alongside Manfred Pentz, Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs and Reduction of Bureaucracy in Germany’s State of Hesse, who is leading a German business delegation to East Africa.
Addressing participants, Afrika encouraged companies to identify business opportunities and partners, saying RDB was ready to support them beyond the discussions.
“We invite you to participate in a fast-growing market and build businesses whose success creates value for Europe and East Africa. I encourage every company here to identify one concrete opportunity, one credible partner and one practical next step. RDB is ready to move with you from discussion to decision, and from decision to implementation.”
The delegation’s regional visit covers Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. The Hesse state government says the mission aims to develop business partnerships and open new markets for companies, building on contacts established through Invest.EastAfrica!.
The visit follows an earlier forum held in Frankfurt and Berlin in January 2026, which brought together 350 German and 60 East African business representatives.
The delegation’s programme begins in Kigali, with business engagements centred on health, pharmaceuticals, agribusiness and trade. It then continues to Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, where the delegation is scheduled to participate in the East Africa CEO & Investment Forum.
