Rwanda Confirms Readiness to Kick Off New Season With Aston Villa in the World’s Most Watched League

Rwanda has announced that it is ready to begin a new partnership with Aston Villa FC in the new season of the English Premier League (EPL), following the signing of a cooperation agreement under the Visit Rwanda program.

The agreement was announced on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, and will see Aston Villa teams,men’s, women’s and youth wear the Visit Rwanda badge on their jerseys.

Aston Villa became the second club to partner with Rwanda under the Visit Rwanda program, following the end of Rwanda’s eight-year partnership with Arsenal, which ran from 2018.

Following Rwanda’s entry into this new partnership with Aston Villa, on Friday, July 17, 2026, the Embassy of Rwanda in the United Kingdom announced that Ambassador Johnston Busingye met with one of the club’s key players, Jamaican forward Leon Bailey.

The Embassy of Rwanda in the United Kingdom, sharing photos showing the player alongside Ambassador Busingye and the Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB), Janet Karemera, said: “Yes, we are ready for the new Premier League season with Visit Rwanda and Aston Villa FC.”

The Embassy announced that this meeting between the Aston Villa player, Rwanda’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and the CEO of RCB reinforces the shared commitment of both sides to building momentum together under the Visit Rwanda program.
