Rwanda’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Johnston Busingye, and members of the country’s diplomatic mission have prepared to support Aston Villa in its Premier League match against Arsenal.
The High Commission announced the preparations on Monday, August 31, hours before Aston Villa’s first home league match of the season at Villa Park.
“Matchday preparations! The High Commission team is repping the new Aston Villa jerseys featuring #VisitRwanda,” the diplomatic mission said.
It also shared photographs showing members of the mission, including Ambassador Busingye, wearing Aston Villa shirts carrying the Visit Rwanda brand.
The High Commission wished Aston Villa victory over Arsenal in the match, which forms part of the second round of the English Premier League season.
Aston Villa entered into a partnership with Visit Rwanda in July 2026 after Rwanda’s sponsorship agreement with Arsenal concluded and the two parties agreed not to renew it.
Under the new partnership, Visit Rwanda is Aston Villa’s front-of-shirt partner, exclusive official tourism partner and official coffee provider.
The Visit Rwanda branding appears on the playing shirts of Aston Villa’s men’s, women’s and youth teams in domestic and European competitions.
Rwanda began its partnership with Arsenal in 2018. The agreement was later renewed before both parties decided to end their collaboration in the summer of 2026.
