The Rwandan Embassy in France announced that President Paul Kagame, along with leaders from the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board, is in Paris, France, to attend the second meeting of the Nuclear Energy Forum.
The Embassy of Rwanda in France made this announcement on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2026, via a post on its X (formerly Twitter) social media account.
In its message, the Embassy stated: “President Paul Kagame and a delegation from the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board are in Paris today to participate in the 2nd Summit on Nuclear Energy.”
President Kagame last visited Paris in May of last year, where he met with his counterpart Emmanuel Macron. Their discussions focused on global issues as well as the bilateral relationship between Rwanda and France.
This meeting is taking place at a time when the world faces challenges caused by climate change and the rising global demand for energy, prompting ongoing discussions on solutions.
The meeting in Paris on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, is expected to feature debates on sustainable energy sources that do not produce greenhouse gases.
It is anticipated that President Kagame, Emmanuel Macron, and Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will deliver speeches at this forum.
The Rwandan President’s speech will focus on the role of nuclear energy in civil applications, industrial development, and energy projects across Africa.
