A member of the Rwandan Parliament, Hon. Germaine Mukabalisa has made history at the East African Community (EAC) Games, held in Uganda, where the country performed impressively once again.
In the competitions for members of the legislative assemblies of EAC countries, Hon. Germaine Mukabalisa won a gold medal in the 400 meters, a title she also claimed in 2023, and earned a bronze medal in the 100 meters.
Hon. Mukabalisa Germaine won this medal at the EAC Games, a competition for members of the legislative assemblies of EAC countries, held this year at Kampala, Uganda.
According to a statement released by the Rwandan Parliament administration on the morning of Monday, December 8, 2025, they expressed pride in the achievement by one of their members.
In its message, the Rwandan Parliament said:
“Rwanda shines at the EAC Games 2025 at Mandela National Stadium! Hon. Germaine Mukabalisa wins gold in the 400m and bronze in the 100m.”
The Parliament also expressed pride in the Silver medal won by Hon. Nyabyenda Damien in the 400 meters.
Hon. Germaine Mukabalisa, who won the gold medal in the 400 meters, had also claimed it in similar games in 2023 held in the Bugesera District of Eastern Province, Rwanda. In the previous year’s 2022 games, held in Juba, South Sudan, she won the bronze medal.
Meanwhile, in last year’s 2024 edition of the games, held in Mombasa, Kenya, in December 2024, she won a bronze medal in the 800 meters race.
