In honor of Customer Service Week, Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd (MoMo Rwanda) last week announced the handover of two brand-new Volkswagen T-Cross vehicles to two esteemed winners: Adela Kiza, a merchant from Musanze, and Michel Ndayambaje, a customer from Ruhango, as part of the BivaMoMotima campaign.
This rewarding initiative, which began in February 2024, aimed to recognize and appreciate our dedicated customers and merchants who made payments via MoMoPay. The grand prize handover ceremony took place in Musanze and Ruhango Districts, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering customer trust and engagement.
“I couldn’t believe it when Mobile Money Rwanda called me. This is my first car, and being a mom of two, I know it’s going to really help me get from point A to point B. I am so encouraged to get my license now and put this car to good use. I am so grateful to Mobile Money Rwanda. All I had to do was encourage my customers to pay via my MoMo code. This has made my entire year. I am overjoyed,” expressed Adela Kiza, a merchant from Musanze District.
Michel Ndayambaje, a Ruhango District resident who emerged as the customer with the highest number of MoMoPay transactions, highlighted: “I am so happy to have been successful in this BivaMoMotima promotion. Though I was using MoMoPay to make payments before, I became more intentional once the promotion began in February. I used to have a motorcycle, and as a dad of four, it wasn’t easy to transport my children, so I am very happy to receive this brand-new car. Thank you so much, Mobile Money Rwanda.”
The BivaMoMotima campaign was open to all MoMo customers and merchants, offering MoMoPay users the chance to win weekly monetary prizes ranging from Rwf 50,000 to Rwf 1,000,000. In addition to these cash prizes, participants also had the opportunity to win non-monetary rewards, including televisions, motorbikes, shopping vouchers, air tickets, and smartphones.
During the handover, Chantal Kagame, Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd, expressed her enthusiasm about the campaign’s success, stating: “Congratulations to the winners, Michel and Adela. The first edition of the BivaMoMotima campaign was officially launched in 2022. Since then, the campaign has awarded cash prizes totaling Rwf 76,500,000, along with 19 motorbikes, 19 televisions, 9 air tickets and 75 smartphones. Additionally, 14 fuel vouchers and 360 shopping vouchers were distributed, as well as 3 brand new cars.
