Nyuma y’uko hatangajwe ko Ikirunga cya Nyiragongo gishobora kongera kuruka, Ikigo cy’Igihugu cyo Kubungabunga Ibidukikije (REMA) cyakoze igenzura ku mwuka uhumekwa mu Karere ka Rubavu ndetse n’amazi y’Ikiyaga cya Kivu, ryasanze umwuka muri aka Karere utujuje ubuziranenge.
Ikigo gishinzwe kugenzura ibirunga (Volcanological Observatory of Goma) giherutse gutangaza ko Ikirunga cya Nyiragongo gikomeje kugaragaza ibimenyetso by’uko gishobora kongera kuruka.
Ibi byatumye Ikigo cy’Igihugu cyo Kubungabunga Ibidukikije (REMA) cyohereza abakozi bacyo mu Karere ka Rubavu kugenzura ubuziranenge bw’umwuka n’ubw’amazi y’Ikiyaga cya Kivu.
Itangazo rya REMA ritangaza ko ibipimo byafashwe ku mwuka bigaragaza ko umwuka mu Karere ka Rubavu utujuje ibipimo by’ubuziranenge, bikagaragarira mu ngano y’uduce duto duto tutabonwa n’amaso twivanga n’umwuka (particulate matter) twagaragaye mu bipimo by’umwuka byafashwe kuva mu minsi itatu ishize.
REMA itangaza ko kugabanuka k’ubuziranenge bw’umwuka muri ako Karere bidafitanye isano n’ikirunga cya Nyiragongo, ahubwo ko bifitanye isano n’ibikorwa bya muntu birimo ibinyabiziga bisohora imyuka ihumanya umwuka, ndetse no gucana inkwi n’amakara byateye ubwiyongere bwa gazi ya sulfur dioxide (SO2) mu mwuka.
REMA kandi yaboneyeho kugira inama abatuye muri aka Karere gukomeza kwambara udupfukamunwa no kugabanya ibikorwa bakorera hanze aho bishoboka.

REMA yaboneyeho gusezeranya ko ku bufatanye n’Ikigo cy’Igihugu gishinzwe ubucukuzi bw’amabuye y’agaciro, peteroli na gaz (RMB) bazakomeza gusuzuma ingaruka zose zishobora guterwa n’ikirunga cya Nyiragongo, hagenzurwa ibihumanya umwuka birimo nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), sulfur dioxide (SO2), particulate matter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), na carbon dioxide (CO2).
