The Government of Rwanda has sent humanitarian assistance to Mozambique following severe floods that have caused loss of life and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, 3 February 2026 which stated that “This morning, the Government of Rwanda delivered a shipment of humanitarian assistance to Mozambique, following recent severe floods which claimed many victims and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.”
The donation consists of 20 metric tons of food, emergency items and medicines. These items are meant to help address immediate needs, especially for displaced families and those affected by the destruction caused by the floods. The Government also announced that “an additional shipment is expected to arrive in the coming days.”
Rwanda’s support reflects its commitment to regional solidarity and cooperation, especially in times of humanitarian crisis. The assistance aims to help ease the suffering of flood victims as recovery and relief efforts continue in Mozambique.
