Investor Eugene Nyagahene, founder of Tele 10 Group and owner of a five-star hotel in Karongi District, has announced a new project to construct one hundred residential apartments that already have clients.
Eugene Nyagahene, who is also the CEO of Tele 10 Group which includes RadioTv10 revealed this project during discussion held at a retreat that brought together investors in the hospitality sector in Karongi.
In this district is also “Cleo Lake Kivu Hotel,” located along the shores of Lake Kivu. The hotel is ranked among the best in Rwanda and is known for offering high-quality services.
During this retreat, which began on Thursday, November 13th, Nyagahene reassured local investors about the availability of clients, emphasizing that the demand is high.
He gave an example of his project to build 100 apartments in the area, explaining that they have already been booked even before construction begins.
He said: “When I started building Cleo Lake Kivu Hotel, I enjoyed it. Next to it, I am going to construct 100 apartments, and the staff working on the Lake Kivu methane gas extraction project have already taken them all before I even start building. I am also working on developing hot springs, and I’ve begun creating pathways leading there.”
At the opening of the two-day retreat, Urimubenshi Aimable, President of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) at the Bwishyura Sector level, also noted that investment in the district is progressing well due to the increasing number of clients.
He said that Karongi District is one of the best investment destinations in Rwanda due to its tourism activities and well-developed infrastructure that facilitate visitors.
He added: “Because the Muhanga–Karongi road was renovated, small cars that used to remain in Kigali are now coming to our district. We have started receiving many visitors who spend the night here.”
Leaders of Karongi District also reminded investors of more opportunities available for investment. This was highlighted by Vedaste Ngarambe, Chairperson of the Karongi District Council.
He said: “There are also opportunities in agriculture. Our district is strengthening the cultivation of Irish potatoes and revitalizing banana plantations. Our hills are also ideal for tourism activities such as hiking.”
The Chairperson further assured investors that the district leadership is committed to listening to them and addressing challenges that hinder investment such as fixing the road that connects the Kivu Belt to the Lake Kivu shores promising that a solution will be sought.
