President Paul Kagame has arrived in Dakar, Senegal, where he is attending the Africa Food Systems Forum, a summit focused on advancing agriculture and livestock as part of efforts to achieve food security on the African Continent.
The Head of State of Rwanda arrived in Dakar on Sunday, August 31, according to the office of the President of Rwanda.
The Presidency of the Republic of Rwanda announced that “President Kagame has arrived in Dakar, Senegal, where he was received by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.”
The Office of the President stated that President Kagame traveled to Senegal to attend the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS Forum) 2025, which focuses on food security.
The AFS Forum plays a major role in promoting agriculture and livestock, with the goal of increasing production in a sector that is crucial to human livelihood.
Participants in this annual forum exchange ideas to adopt strategies for boosting agriculture and livestock across the African continent.
This forum brings together people from different sectors, supported by 28 partners. Last year’s edition, held in Rwanda in 2024, carried the theme: “Innovate, Accelerate, and Scale: Delivering Food Systems Transformation in a Digital and Climate Era.”
President Paul Kagame, who is attending this year’s forum being held in Senegal, is among the distinguished leaders and thinkers whose contributions will continue to support the advancement of agriculture and livestock, as the leader of a country that has been making significant progress in these sectors.
