Rwandan rapper Uwimana Francis, popularly known as Fireman, has recently ventured into commission-based land brokerage, helping people buy and sell land. He says the move was driven by increasing personal responsibilities and the need to find additional income sources beyond music.
Speaking to Igihe, Fireman explained, “As you grow older, responsibilities increase. You need to expand your activities and look for what suits you.”
He began this side hustle two months ago after voluntarily undergoing rehabilitation at a center in Huye. He realized that music alone couldn’t meet all his financial obligations, prompting him to seek alternative ways to support himself.
However, he clarified that he hasn’t abandoned music. “Music is still in me. Doing something else aside doesn’t stop you from being an artist.”
In October 2024, Fireman released an EP titled “Bucyanayandii” which includes songs like the title track “Bucyanayandi” and “Igeno.”
