Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd (MoMo Rwanda) delivered solid performance in the first quarter of 2026, showing how deeply digital financial services are now part of everyday life in Rwanda.
The platform processed 803 million transactions during the quarter, with total value reaching nearly RWF 14 trillion. The numbers point to a clear shift. More people and businesses are choosing digital payments as their default way to move money.
MoMoPay now serves over 4 million users, with more customers going beyond basic transfers into services like credit, bank integrations, and remittances. This is not just growth in access. It is growth in how people use the platform.
Our agent network has grown 13% year-on-year to 74,000 enabling millions more Rwandans to access MoMo services, while supporting financial inclusion and job creation across the country. Revenue closed the quarter at RWF 43 billion, giving the business more room to invest in products that make financial services easier to access and more relevant to daily needs.
During the quarter, MoMo Rwanda stayed active in the market through platforms like Tour du Rwanda and the Inclusive Fintech Forum. On the product side, the company introduced MoFlex, a credit solution developed with Ecobank and Yabx, designed to give individuals and businesses more flexible access to financing.
Chantal U Kagame, Chief Executive Officer, MoMo Rwanda, said: “The continued growth over the last three months is a result of the trust our customers have in MoMo. Beyond transactions, we are enabling greater access to financial services, supporting businesses, and creating more opportunities for people to participate in the economy. We remain focused on expanding financial inclusion, building practical solutions, and strengthening an ecosystem that works for every Rwandan.”
